Our Health Center team would like to remind parents to please let them and your TAC know of any medical appointments your Cadet has so appropriate support and continuity of care can be assured.  You can reach the Health Center team by phone at 760-547-5213 and by email at health@armyandnavyacademy.org.

Academic Update

The following email went out this week to all Academy parents from Dr Patrizia Zary, Academic Dean, and we are including it in the weekly newsletter to ensure it has been thoroughly communicated.

Dear Families,

As we near the end of Grading Period 1 next week, it's important to remind you of our school's policy regarding missing assignments, and D and F grades. Our teachers, Cadet Life, and Academic administrators have been diligently working with your child to ensure that homework and tests are completed on time. We've had a system in place for Cadets who are missing assignments and D and F grades. These Cadets were scheduled to attend mandatory tutorial and study hall. However, any Day and Boarding Cadets with missing assignments still showing in Aeries by this Friday, Sept 20, will be automatically placed in Mandatory Saturday School with the Dean.

The Saturday school will be held on Sept 28, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM in Davis Hall. Students assigned to Saturday school are expected to arrive on time and be prepared to complete their assigned tasks.

Please remember:

  • Bring any necessary materials for your work.
  • Adhere to the school's code of conduct at all times.
  • No electronic devices are allowed unless specifically instructed.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email me at pzary@armyandnavyacademy.org or Ms Maya Ramirez at  mramirez@armyandnavyacademy.org

I appreciate your support.

Dr. Patrizia Zary

Academic Dean

This week, we had the opportunity to publicly support Athletic Director and Coach, Nehemiah Brunson, for Los Angeles Chargers High School Coach of the Week.  Voting ran from Tuesday, Sept 10 - 11, at midnight.

Winners will be announced this Friday and we hope to celebrate a WIN with Coach B!

LA Chargers HS coach of the week (1)

In sports, Varsity Football had a dominating game last Friday against Canyon Hills in which they won 50 to 0.  This puts them up overall at 3 wins and 0 losses.  Their next game is AWAY at Calipatria (El Centro) on Friday, Sept 20 at 7 pm.  It's going to be HOT.

Water Polo played two games this week, a win against Monte Vista and a loss against El Capitan.  Cross Country has been dedicating their time to training with long runs and time trials.  Their next meet is Sept 27 at Morley Field.  Hockey had their second week of House league games and continues to push toward Warrior excellence on the ice.

Remember to check out team pictures and game coverage on our Sports Galleries here.  New game photography will be added throughout the season.  We plan to have professional coverage for at least one match per sport per season.  We encourage Cadet photographers to attend any games they can and upload those shots to our Flickr channel here.

Admission Update

Enrollment is still open for the Fall semester at ANA.  If you know someone who would be a great fit for the Corps of Cadets, contact your Admission counselor or Admission@armyandnavyacademy.org to learn more.  We often schedule Shadow Days for interested Cadets to experience ANA for a day.  Families who refer a newly enrolled Cadet could earn $1000 at the Cadet Store.
