Welcome to this week’s edition of the Weekly Warrior newsletter! On Monday, we celebrated Veterans Day with our traditional parade. The community came out in force, and the Corps of Cadets made us all proud. Pictures will be posted to our Event Gallery by next week. In the meantime, Cadet photographer, Royce F, has shared some of his shots.
The Thanksgiving holiday is right around the corner. Campus is closed from November 28 through December 1. Cadets return to class on December 2. Please encourage your Cadet to complete his REACH leave request ASAP to ensure efficiency in checking out. If your Cadet needs a refresher on using REACH, please ask him to talk to his TAC.
Posted below is the schedule for the end of semester final examinations. Cadets may not leave campus until their finals are complete on December 18. Note that the dress code during the week is festive! If you have any questions, please reach out to the Dean or the Assistant Dean of Academics.
On behalf of Cadet Life and Academics, we want to congratulate the Atkinson Warrior band for all their hard work on Veterans Day weekend supporting the parade and later that day performing at Carlsbad by the Sea retirement community. Next, you can find them participating in the La Jolla Christmas Parade on December 8 and then performing for their Christmas Band Concert and Award Ceremony at ANA that same week.
This year, as part of our Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Program of Accreditation, the Cadet's capstone Service Learning Project supports homeless veterans. Cadets are collecting blankets, jackets, socks, and other clothing items. Please consider donating items or funds to this important cause.
Varsity Football finished the season 8 and 3 losing for the first time in a D3 playoff vs Eastlake 21 to 7. The Warriors put on a valiant effort to the final zero.
Warrior Cross Country will be competing in CIF champion sectionals at Morley Field this Friday. Winter sports officially kicked off on Nov 9 with soccer, basketball, wrestling, rugby, surf, and esports. Congratulations to senior Zavier Leatherman committing to Boise State to further his education and athletic career in rugby.
All league selections for Varsity Football have been decided. We applaud those Cadets earning a spot. Nehemiah Brunson Jr was one vote away from being named Defensive Player of the Year and Jonah Tua placed third for the title. Congratulations Warriors on a great season!
Spring enrollment is now open. Don't forget to take advantage of our Bring a Buddy and Refer a Friend programs. Contact Darrin Knox for more information.
