Hello Warrior Families, Team Members, and Academy Supporters,
Wednesday, we welcomed over 50 brand-new Cadets and their families to campus. The Cadets jumped into the orientation process but New Cadet Training formally begins this weekend. As a reminder, you can view that schedule here.
Next week, August 19 at 8 am, is our final Move-In event for Cadets arriving on campus. Please make sure you arrive promptly and with your documents completed which is simplified by following the Guided Registration process included below.
Thank you for your commitment to the Warrior community!
We had the pleasure of a visit by class of 1978 alumnus, Ken Bergner. Below is a note he sent us after returning home. Thank you to Cadets Kayden Jansen, Hudson Moelke, and Carlos Ramirez for chaperoning Mr Bergner and snapping his picture by the Senior Well.
"I would like to say thank you for helping me to take a quick tour of my old Alma Mater yesterday. I haven't been back to the academy in several decades, and just happened to find myself in Oceanside to meet an old friend for breakfast, so naturally, I thought I'd just "drop-in".
That said, your kindness is greatly appreciated. I was greeted by the two young Cadets you introduced me to, but I didn't want to waste their time showing the "old guy" around the campus, and then by Carlos with a camera. Please extend my thanks to the Cadets.
I found my '78 class photo in the Gym. It used to be on the stairwell to the President's office.
I got back to Phoenix and pulled out my Adjutants' from '77 and '78 (had to find them first, of course) and found an inscription from Colonel Atty referring to me as his friend and as "one of the finest ever to graduate from the Academy". In truth, he treated all of us just like that. What a great guy! He personally appointed me to the Honor Council, and I'm sure was behind many of my successes at the Academy. Would have made Silver A had I played sports instead of Masque and Wig. So many great changes occurred there in just two years. It was nice to reminisce. Maybe I'll "drop in" again over the Alumni weekend in October if I can find a reason to be in SoCal.
Thank you again, and best regards always!

Aug19 at 8 am is the final Move-In event for the Fall semester. Please make sure you have completed the Guided Registration process before arriving.
Health Center forms and requirements must be completed as instructed which is simplified by following the steps within the Guided Registration link.
TB Screening requirements
Tuberculosis Screening (TB) will be required for all first-year Cadets and any Cadet that has had temporary or permanent residence in a foreign country for a length of 30 days or longer. TB test results take 48-72 hours and a negative test result is required for your Cadet to be on campus. With this in mind, please plan accordingly.
Sports Physical requirements
A sports physical is needed before your Cadet’s arrival. This form must be the current year form being utilized by the Academy. It must be filled out by a medical practitioner (MD, DO, or NP). The document cannot be older than 12 months and is required annually. Arrangements must be made to renew this document if it expires during the school year. A practitioner's signature is required.

Cadre Training has been in high gear for the last week. Leaders have received guidance from ANA President, MG (R) Peggy Combs, LTC (R) Roland Miraco, Commandant, LTC (R) Curby Scarborough, Director of Leadership and Virtues, and the Senior Army Instructor, LTC (R) Eric Kunak.
The Cadet Cadre reviewed the fundamentals of effective staff meetings, the Cadet leader's duties and responsibilities, JROTC Accreditation Program requirements, long-range calendar development, and reviewed and developed their Standing Operating Procedures (SOP) for the Corps of Cadets.
Cadet Cadre performed a group practical exercise focusing on Corps discipline. Cadets reviewed and presented information from key documents such as ThePresident’s Guidance to the Warrior Battalion Leadership,Army and Navy Academy Disciplinary/Behavior Development Approach, Honor Council SOP, and the current Policy Letters/Handbook.
Cadet Leaders were validated by the JROTC team for New Cadet Training in four key areas of instruction:
Drill Period 1
Army and Navy Academy History
Army and Navy Academy Traditions
Execution of the Cadet Challenge fitness test
After two full days of instruction, reflection, and practical exercises, the team enjoyed a day of team building at Wild Rivers Park with Cadet Life and JROTC.
