Welcome to this week’s edition of the Weekly Warrior newsletter! The goal of this weekly outreach is to keep you informed about Academy news, events, and policies. Your support is crucial as we work together to develop leaders of character. Thank you for being such an integral part of our community’s strength and spirit.
As the semester concludes and the holiday season approaches, please note the schedule for final examinations. All Cadets will take their exams from December 16th to December 18th and must remain on campus until their release at 3:00 PM on December 18th. Departing early without the Dean's approval may result in a zero for the final exam. Please plan your holiday activities accordingly. For any questions, contact the Dean or the Assistant Dean of Academics. Thank you for your attention.
Reminder From the Commandant: Bullying Stand Down this Friday
Please remember that due to our Bullying Stand Down this Friday, pick up for all Cadets will be at 3:00 pm. This program aims to educate students on the impacts of bullying, promote respectful interactions, and provide resources for those who may be affected. We appreciate your support in helping create a safer and more respectful environment for our students.
Did you know that Cadets in good standing can coordinate behind-the-wheel driving lessons required by most states to qualify to take the driver's license test?
For those under 18 years old, the California DMV requires CA permit holders to spend at least 6 months practicing with a licensed driver for 50 hours and complete 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training with a licensed instructor. A 6-hour certificate is then provided to Cadets to show to their state's DMV to qualify to take a driver's license test. Check with your state's DMV to learn about all their requirements.
Many lessons can be coordinated in single one-hour or multiple two-hour sessions and instruction time is flexible including over weekends and afternoons after 3 pm when Cadets are not in class. Pick-up and drop-off at the Academy can also be arranged and a vehicle is provided for lessons.
This year, as part of our Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Program of Accreditation, the Cadet's capstone Service Learning Project supports homeless veterans. Cadets are collecting blankets, jackets, socks, and other clothing items. Please consider donating items or funds to this important cause.
Spring enrollment is now open. Don't forget to take advantage of our Bring a Buddy and Refer a Friend programs. Contact Darrin Knox for more information.
