Warrior Soccer would like to welcome their new head coach Cobi Black, originally from Kansas. Cobi has played soccer most of his life and has a passion for teaching the game he loves. He is also a club coach with FC Golden State San Diego and trains locals while still playing professionally.
Another major announcement is Coach Kyle Gardner has stepped in as interim coach of the Warrior Wrestling program. Kyle has an extensive background in the sport, wrestling for Crescent Valley where he was a 3x all-state wrestler. Kyle, while running our strength program at the academy, currently trains with professionals Troy Rollins, Tod Medina, and Joey Beltran who are all world-class wrestlers and MMA fighters.
Congratulations to Tristen Hoag and Antonio Acuna, both taking top-five finishes at the Granite Hills Invitational this past Saturday. Warrior Wrestling finished 2-0 this past week, beating El Cajon Valley and crosstown rival Sage Creek, losing by one point to Fallbrook. The Warriors look to bounce back this weekend at the Mira Mesa Invitational.
Warrior Basketball is now 4-2 after defeating Morse High School 56-35. They've been playing in the Capistrano Valley Christian tournament this week which ends Saturday. The team looks to finish the year strong with one home game left against Vincent Memorial on December 19 at 5:00 pm.
Nehemiah Brunson Jr. will be playing in the Alex Spanos All-Star Class over winter break.
