The last week of school has finally arrived and it's bittersweet for all of us!
While we look forward to watching our Cadets grow and mature during their journey at the Academy, we will miss them when they walk out the gates. If you are a Senior, we wish you all the best. Please stay in touch. If you are returning in the fall, we look forward to welcoming you back with an improved campus and reinvigorated enthusiasm to support you as you tackle challenges in the new academic year.
Commencement week events are being captured with professional photography by Carlsbad Photo and video by Kota Productions. The senior college sweatshirt photos, Fire & Ice, Middle School Promotion, Mother & Son Tea, and the Change of Command Parade are already posted here. As we conclude the 2024-2025 academic year, I want to extend my sincere congratulations to our Cadets for their tremendous accomplishments and dedication to academic excellence. Throughout the year, our Cadets have risen to every challenge. They participated in the all-school SAT/PSAT testing day, embraced the rigor of their courses, and completed both semester final exams and AP exams with determination and focus. They worked closely with their teachers during tutorial sessions, office hours, and study halls, demonstrating a commitment to growth, mastery, and personal accountability.
We are especially proud of how our Cadets upheld the high academic standards expected in each class while meeting the demanding expectations of the Army and Navy Academy’s athletic programs and the Leadership Education and Training (LET) program. Their ability to balance these responsibilities speaks volumes about their character, discipline, and perseverance. As summer begins, we hope your family enjoys a season of rest, rejuvenation, and time together. The hard work during this academic year has earned each Cadet a well-deserved break. We look forward to welcoming our Cadets back in the fall for the 2025–2026 school year, ready to build on this year’s successes and continue their academic and personal journey of excellence.
Have an amazing Summer!
Sincerely,
Dr. Patrizia Zary
Dean of Academics, Army and Navy Academy
Army and Navy Academy Congratulates the Class of 2025!
This year’s graduates have been accepted to 98 unique institutions, including top universities, U.S. service academies, and all five senior military colleges, and have collectively earned more than $4.2 million in scholarships for their academic, athletic, and leadership accomplishments. With a graduating class of only 58 Cadets, this achievement is particularly significant.
"Our Cadets have truly earned the opportunities ahead of them," said Barry Shreiar, President of Army and Navy Academy. "Their hard work, character, and perseverance reflect the core values of our institution and the impact of an environment intentionally designed around what young men need developmentally and neurologically to thrive."
Cadets Share Their Favorite Recipes in the 2025 Warrior Cookbook
What started as an after-school club to support the development of well-rounded and gastronomically self-sufficient young men has grown into a curated curriculum. This special collection features recipes submitted by our very own Cadets, showcasing their creativity, heritage, and growing culinary skills.
This year’s edition is lovingly dedicated to Chef Amanda Miraco, who is not only the founder of the Warrior Culinary Arts program but also the embodiment of the devotion and spirit we strive to uphold within our brotherhood. We are forever grateful for Amanda’s vision, her heart, and the legacy she has built here at Army and Navy Academy.
You can purchase a copy of the Warrior Cookbook on campus through Commencement. A table is set up next to Davis Hall. To learn more or to purchase one over the summer, please contact Leslie Schneider at lschneider@armyandnavyacademy.org.
Recognition of ANA Cadets for Excellence in Boys' Volleyball!
It’s an honor to share that two of our Cadets, Nate Webber and William Jin, have been awarded the Breitbard Certificate of Athletic Achievement by The San Diego Sports Association for the 2025 Boys' Volleyball All-Ocean League.
Nate Webber – First Team
William Jin – Second Team
The Breitbard Hall of Fame, established in 1953 by Robert Breitbard, honors athletes who have excelled athletically in San Diego or who are native San Diegans and have achieved athletic fame elsewhere. Over 155 athletes have been inducted, including icons such as Bill Walton, Tony Hawk, Ted Williams, and Tony Gwynn. This accomplishment speaks to the dedication and hard work that Nate and William bring to their game. Congratulations to both!
